Leading 5-3 from the leg in Italy, Schalke looked to add to their advantage early doors as Raul forced Cesar into a save from a glancing header. On the stroke of halftime the Germans struck, Raul Gonzalez was put through on goal and, after rounding Julio Cesar, the Spanish legend slotted the ball into the net. (First half highlights) Inter replied early in the second half as a Sneijder corner was headed on by Lucio and Thiago Motta was on hand to stab the ball home from six yards out.
