Huntelaar scores after 1003-minute goal drought

The last time Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scored was on 9th  February.That happened when he played for Oranje.Saturday afternoon the forward rediscovered his goalscoring form for Schalke 04.Huntelaar came on in the second half of Schalke’s home game against Mainz 05.He just needed two minutes to score:1-0.The goal was insignificant because Mainz won 1-3 but Huntelaar the goal lifted some of the weight off his shoulder.After 1003 minutes without any goal in the Bundesliga,the striker scored against Mainz.

The striker was injured for a very long time and last Wednesday made his return against Manchester United (4-1).The last time the Dutch international scored for Schalke scoorde was on 24th November against Olympique Lyon (3-0),when he scored a brace.The last time he scored in the Bundesliga was on 13th November agains tVfL Wolfsburg (2-2). He now has 8 goals in 23 games for the Gelsinkirchen side.
