No Kharja,Chamakh,Taarabt,Boussoufa in Morocco AFCON squad


Atlas Lions coach Rachid Taoussi has named  his 24-man provisional Africa Cup of Nations squad. Most key players failed to make the team but the major shock is Morocco skipper Houssine Kharja’s absence.

Kharja was Morocco’ best player at the last Africa Cup of Nations and also a very key player in the Atlas Lions’ Afcon 2013 qualifying campaign.

Ex-PSV Eindhoven player Zakaria Labyad, Carcela, Chretien, Youssouf Hadji,Chamakh, Taarabt and Boussoufa will also not go to South Africa.

Morocco full squad:
Goalkeepers: Nadir Lamyaghri (Wydad Casablanca), Annas Zniti (Maghreb Fez), Khalid Askri (Chabab Rif Al Hoceima)

Defenders: Mehdi Benatia (Udinese), Ahmed Kantari (Brest) , Abderrahim Chakir (FAR Rabat), Zakaria Bergdich (Lens), Abdelhamid El Kaoutari (Montpellier), Younness Bellakhdar (Raja Casablanca), Issam El Adoua (Vitória de Guimarães)

Midfielders: Adil Hermach (Al Hilal Ryad), Abdelaziz Barrada (Getafe), Karim El Ahmadi (Aston Villa), Abdelilah Hafidi (Raja Casablanca),Oussama Assaidi (Liverpool), Younès Belhanda (Montpellier), Youssef Kaddioui (FAR Rabat), Kamel Chafni (Brest), Chakhir Belghazouani (AC Ajaccio), Mehdi Namli (Moghreb Tétouan)
