Lazio attacker Keita Baldé Diao wants to play for Spain. Keita, formerly of FC Barcelona has turned down an approach from Senegal to keep himself open to being capped by Spain. The 18-year-old star who was born in Arbucias in Cataluña recently caught the attention of Senegal manager Alain Giresse, but the Frenchman has revealed that the youngster has chosen to represent Spain.

“I spoke to his club and they let me know Keita has chosen Spain,” explained Senegal manager Giresse.

“He was born in that country, so it is normal he has made this decision to play for Spain.”

Last Sunday Keita starred for Lazio in a 2:0 Italian Serie A win at Chievo. He assisted one goal and scored the second.
